UPDATE: The intersection at Cotton and Marshall is now open to traffic.
Meanwhile, over the Red River, things are moving right along on the Long- Allen, aka Texas Street Bridge.
DOTD spokesperson Erin Buchanan tells the DDA that the state is anticipating an early summer completion at this point, which is on schedule. She says that in addition to the bridge repair work, the contractor will also be cleaning the drainage structures on the bridge, likely in May-June. Though no one loves construction projects, a great benefit to this one was having a left-hand turn signal installed at the Spring/Texas traffic signal. We will be asking the state to retain that even after the bridge work is done.
